What are the advantages of a virtual server?
Virtual servers give you dedicated resources like CPU, RAM and storage, isolated from other users. You get good performance, stability and flexibility at a lower price than a physical dedicated server. You have full control over the operating system and software.
What is the difference between Performance and Value?
Performance uses AMD EPYC processors for maximum performance per core, ideal for databases, game servers and demanding applications. Value uses Intel Xeon Gold and delivers solid performance at a lower price, perfect for websites, development and staging.
Which operating systems can I choose?
You can install Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Fedora and more automatically via Flux. Virtual servers also support your own ISO, so you can install Windows Server, FreeBSD or other systems.
Does a virtual server require technical knowledge?
Yes. You have full administrator access and must install and configure the server yourself. A bit of technical experience is helpful, but we're happy to help if you get stuck.
Can I upgrade the resources later?
Yes. You can upgrade CPU, RAM and storage directly in Flux whenever your needs change.
Do I get automatic backups or snapshots?
We offer 3 free snapshots per virtual server, so you can easily roll back. Snapshots should not be considered backups, however. If you need real backups, you can enable our backup service in Flux, which takes 7 daily backups automatically.
How much does backup cost, and how does it work?
Backup costs 25% of the server's monthly price and is activated directly in Flux. We take one backup per day and keep the last seven. Once you have seven, the oldest is overwritten automatically. You can roll back to an earlier backup at any time from Flux.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored in our own datacenter in Sandefjord, Norway. We process personal data under Norwegian law and the EU GDPR. You retain full control over your data.
